Clean before fast.
Restoring quickly is worthless if you restore the infection with it.
The fastest way back is worthless if it brings the infection along. The most expensive surprise during a restoration is usually not the missing backup, it is the compromised one.
Mycelia only restores once the restoration state is demonstrably clean, and refuses infected backups.
How that is verified is not something we describe publicly. This mechanism is the subject of ongoing IP work.
